Every rep is coached
Small groups and a coach on the floor at all times — technique first, then intensity.
OUR STORY
Engine Room started in 2021 with a borrowed sled, two rowers and eight athletes training for their first Hyrox. Coach Chris Brown had spent ten years in strength and conditioning and saw what everyday racers were missing: real coaching on the stations, and running that holds up when your legs are gone. Today we train hundreds of members in a converted 1920s foundry in Denver's River North district — 12,000 square feet of turf lanes, sleds, SkiErgs, rowers and wall-ball targets. Our programming is built backward from race day, every class is coached, and every finish line is celebrated like it's the World Championships.
Small groups and a coach on the floor at all times — technique first, then intensity.
Periodised programming that peaks you for your next Hyrox, not just a sweaty Tuesday.
First-timer or Pro division, the whole room cheers until the last wall ball lands.
Our team
Chris spent a decade coaching strength and conditioning before racing his first Hyrox in 2019 — and never looked back. A 9-time finisher (PB 1:02 in Pro), he built Engine Room to give everyday athletes the same station-by-station coaching elite racers get. Expect honest programming, loud music, and a coach who remembers your split times.
