Loading your invoice…

How to make an invoice in a few minutes

Start with your country so the right tax rules and labels load. Click any text on the invoice to edit it: your business name, the client, each line item and the payment terms. Totals, tax and the due date update as you type. When it looks right, download the PDF invoice or print it.

What to put on an invoice

A valid invoice normally needs a unique number, the invoice date, the date of the service, both parties' names and addresses, a clear description of what you sold, the amounts before tax, the tax rate and amount, and the total due. Add your VAT number if you are registered, and your bank details so the client can pay.

Freelancers and sole traders without VAT

If you are not VAT-registered or use a small-business scheme, choose the matching tax option. The invoice then leaves out tax and adds the usual note explaining why, so you can use it as a freelance or sole trader invoice template.

Invoices in other languages and currencies

Working with clients abroad? Switch the invoice language independently of this page, and pick EUR, USD, GBP, CHF or PLN. Labels, date formats and number formats follow the invoice language.

Get paid faster with a payment QR code

Add your IBAN and invoice in euros to show an EPC payment QR code (GiroCode). Clients scan it with their banking app and the amount, reference and account details are filled in for them.

PDF invoices, not e-invoices

This tool makes PDF invoices. Where structured e-invoices are mandatory for business-to-business sales, use certified e-invoicing software for those invoices. For everything else a clear PDF invoice is usually enough.

How do I create an invoice?

Choose your country, type your business name and the client's details on the invoice, add one line per service, and check the dates and payment terms. Then download the PDF, print it, or create a share link. The tool calculates totals and tax for you.

What has to be on an invoice?

Usually: your name and address, the client's name and address, a unique invoice number, the invoice date, the service date, a description of each item, the net amount, the tax rate and tax amount (or the reason no tax is charged), and the total. VAT-registered sellers also show their VAT number. Rules vary by country, so check your local requirements.

Is this invoice generator really free with no sign-up?

Yes. There is no account, no trial and no watermark on the invoice itself. A small 'Made with Zenyogi' line appears at the bottom of the page. Your invoice is saved only in this browser.

Can I create an invoice in another language?

Yes. The invoice language follows the site language, but you can pick any of eight languages in the Details panel — for example an invoice in German or French for a client abroad. Labels, dates and number formats switch with it.

Is this an e-invoice?

No. The tool creates a PDF invoice. Some countries require structured e-invoices for certain business-to-business sales (for example XRechnung or ZUGFeRD in Germany, SDI in Italy, KSeF in Poland or Peppol in Belgium). If that applies to you, use certified e-invoicing software for those invoices.

How does the share link work?

Create share link stores a copy of the PDF and gives you a private link to send your client. Anyone with the link can download it. The link is not indexed by search engines and is deleted automatically after 30 days, or immediately when you press Delete link.
